Hip clips, links to love and other post/boast worthy stuff on the web from the worlds of fashion, music and pop culture for the week beginning Monday, July 23, 2012.
CHOICE LOOKS AT TEEN CHOICE
The 2012 Teen Choice Awards filmed live at the Gibson Amphitheater aired on FOX last night, and you can see all the important (and by that, we mean good) ensembles right here in this Associated Press video from the Red Carpet. Host Demo Lovato looked hip and regal, Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries) chic and modelesque, the Jenner sisters simple and cute (their style is nothing like their gaudy half-sisters, is it?). Our little girl’s favorite, Miranda Cosgrove aka “iCarly,” was glam and grown up (but not too much) in a short gilded number… Check ‘em all out below:
GAGA IN GEAR
After touting her pricey new parfum last week, leave it to Gaga to get more street… literally. The popstar played some never–before-heard music for a few lucky fans in NYC the other day. At least that’s how this clip is being touted. Maybe she just listens to her own music while cruising?
The new season of Project Runway premiered last Thursday, but if you missed it, Lifetime has you covered. You can watch full eps on their website. Even awesomer for Runway junkies: the site has extended critiques on each designers look and extended interviews with each week’s winner and loser. We always feel like the show is heavily edited, especially when it comes to the critiques. Is Michael Kors, for example, really as merciless as he seems or does he pepper his quips with something positive the contestants can learn from? Now you can find out. Below, a “Meet the Designers” clip for those who need to catch up before this Thursday’s episode.
Oh J-Lo, the Swarovski crystal-covered lip has so been done… and wasn’t it by you at one point? We wouldn’t be surprised if Ms. Lopez was referencing her ’99 hit ”Waiting For Tonight,” (the clip saw her entire face specked with crystals). After all, this new one for “Goin” is very old school Jennifer, with white belly-baring hip-hop-ish garb that evokes her first hit, “If You Had My Love.” Gotta give it to the 40 something singer/actress/former American Idol judge — it was announced today that J-Lo is out and Mimi is in – she looks just as good now as she did back then (13 years ago). The full video will debut on MTV.com July 25.
