The drive and focus of Olympic athletes has been awesome to watch so far, but tonight it’s time to experience an even fiercer competition: the quest for femme-fabulosity that is RuPaul’s Drag U. On tonight’s show, three of our favorite queens try their hand at turning real, rather rough ladies into glamazons: Pandora Boxx, Raja (winner of last season’s Drag Race and a pal of yours truly!) and current “Drag Superstar” title-holder Sharon Needles. All three wo-men have an unconventional, edgy kind of allure, so it will be very interesting to see who brings it best in the quest for babelicious transformation. Watch on LOGO TV tonight.
Do us Cali folk talk strangely? “Karadashian-ese” is pretty annoying, and deep in the Valley you might hear the slurry, silly kind of dialect, as heard on SNL’s faux soap, “The Californians.” But the freeway references don’t ring true. Still, this outtake is kind of funny, mainly because Bill Hader can’t keep a straight face. And by the way, his nightlife reporter “Stefon” is way more spot-on.
The “Call Me Maybe” lip-synch video has officially gotten out of hand….
On a more serious note, people are asking why this inspiring hymm was cut from NBC’s Opening Ceremony Olympics broadcast Friday night… The answer: Ryan Seacrest strikes again.
This video of Lana Del Rey (the new face of H&M) singing Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box” has gone viral and not because she’s singing about Courtney Love’s va-jay-jay… Ms. Love decided to remind Del Rey and the world of the song’s inspiration via Twitter last night, but the tweets are gone today.
