When it was announced that the legendary public television host passed away today, we weren’t surprised by the outpouring of praise and sadness he got on social media, but we were suprised by the range of fans who posted about him: from twentysomethings to old timers. We had the pleasure of meeting and shooting Huell when he covered the Coachella Music Festival back in 2008 and he was a breath of fresh air; a jolly, anything-but-stuffy fellow who obviously loved what he did.
Though he is no longer with us, he truly will “live on video” for eternity- via footage from his various program covering the real people and places of California. Here, we share his report from Coachella that year and the original Hot Dog On A Stick in Santa Monica, plus a snippet of his report on the iconic Hollywood Sign.
R.I.P. H.H.!
